When I was a kid one of my favorite book series was the Adventures of Tom Swift. The books, and there are over a hundred titles, were first published in 1910 and have continued in one form or another into the 21st century. Tom would think that was pretty cool. Each adventure centered around some invention or technology–airships, motorcycles, electric rifles, diving sea copters, and rocketships to name only a handful. So when I saw the video of Amazon’s Blue Origin booster rocket completing a controlled landing, well, I went into a Tom Swift moment. To see a real rocket come back to earth and land upright, just like all those old scifi flicks. Wow!

If you want to read Tom Swift and His Rocket Ship, here’s a link to the book at Amazon.
